Categories
Inventory Categories group items that share similar characteristics and are useful for inventory reporting. Categories are also criteria for Deal Pricing, Promotions, and Commissions in Sales Maintenance. Only one Category may be assigned to an inventory item. The list can contain an unlimited number of entries.

Edit Category
Opened via the New or Modify buttons on the Categories form.

Opens the Features form to manage sales features for this Category. Features are option groups used by the Product and Sales Configurator. |

Unique name of the Category. |

Sales Quota |
Planned annual sales in dollars; available in Sales > Order Reporting Ranking. |

If checked, this record is active. |

Default |
If checked, used as the default when creating new items. |

Restricted Selling |
If checked, marks this as a restricted Category. (Inventory Sub-Categories and Item Search 1–5 can also be restricted.) |
User Fields tab
Deacom allows the creation of user-defined fields that, once created are available in various master data records, such as Items, Vendors, Ship-To-Companies and many others. These fields allow companies to enter and store information outside of the fields provided in the system. User fields can also be used in connection with User Calculations and are available for printing on the majority of Part Forms and Report Layouts throughout the system.
Units tab
Define minutes required per unit to receive/ship items in this Category; used with the Dock calendar for scheduling.
Note: Unit Minutes may also be defined on individual Units of Measure, Item Masters, and Sub-Categories, allowing companies to define a hierarchy for the minutes that will be required for receiving and shipping.

Overrides |
If clicked, opens the Feature Overrides form, which displays a feature tree of this Category and all available options and prices, with the capability of overriding pricing and availability.

Inclusions |
If clicked, opens the Feature Inclusions form, which displays a list of the inclusions and exclusions that have been added to the current Feature. See Edit Inclusion/Exclusion form for more information on Inclusions and Exclusions. |

View Tree |
If clicked, displays a feature tree of the selected Feature and all attached options and prices, which can be printed or exported to Excel. |
Feature Overrides form
Lists the Overrides for this feature.

Opened via the "Modify" button on the Feature Overrides form.

If checked, allows the user to edit the "Commissionable" flag of the selected Feature or Endpoint. |

Only available when the "Override Commission" flag is checked. Allows the user to modify the selected Feature or Endpoint to be eligible for Commissions. |

The date the override begins taking effect. |

End Date |
The date the override expires. |
